Skills Development Provider for Career Guidance Capacity Building RFQ INVITATION

Services of a Skills Development Provider to conduct career guidance capacity building workshops on HWSETA career development services to promote occupations in high demand to teachers from mainstream and special schools, as well as CET colleges located in both rural and urban areas.

The objective of the capacity building workshops is to capacitate teachers from mainstream schools, special schools, and CET colleges with career guidance skills.

The term ‘career guidance’ describes the full range of career-related interventions which support young people to make choices and to develop their career thinking. In career planning strategy there is a requirement for schools and colleges to provide young people with access to personal guidance and this should be with a careers adviser who should be trained.

Number of career guidance capacity building workshops to be conducted over a six month period:

2 x Workshops in Gauteng with a minimum of 15 career guidance teachers attending each workshop

1 x Workshop in KwaZulu Natal with a minimum of 15 career guidance teachers attending each workshop

1 x Workshop in Western Cape with a minimum of 15 career guidance teachers attending each workshop

 

For each workshop conducted the Skills Development Provider must provide the following:

• Report written by skills development provider about the workshop

• List of student career guidance teachers trained

• Attendance register for the workshop

• Registration form completed by student career guidance teachers

• Certified ID copy of each career guidance teacher

 

QUOTATIONS MUST INCLUDE ALL TRAVEL AND LOGISTICS COSTS INVOLVED

This document sets out the functionality criteria used to assess and select a Skills Development

Provider to conduct career guidance capacity building workshops for teachers from mainstream

schools, special schools and CET colleges across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.

Each bid is scored against five criteria areas, with a maximum combined score of 100 points.

 

1. How the evaluation works

Each sub-criterion is scored on a scale of 0 to 5. The score is multiplied by the points allocated

to that sub-criterion and divided by 5 to give the points awarded. The points for all sub-criteria

are added together to give the total functionality score out of 100.

A bidder must achieve a minimum functionality threshold of 70 out of 100 points to be

considered responsive. Bids that score below this threshold will not proceed to the price and BBBEE

evaluation stage.
