      17th June 2020 reply

      Dear Ziphelele

Kindly be informed that there are different ways you can apply, HWSETA has partnerships with public universities. For students pursuing qualifications within the scope of health and social sectors. This applies to undergraduate bursary funding. or you can contact the department of health or social development in your area and inquire when do they advertise bursary opportunities. For social sector its social workers or community development. The department of health accommodate the medical field including nurses.

For Post graduate opportunities, HWSETA advertises the opportunities directly to the individuals and the advert is posted on the HWSETA WEBSITE under Expression of Interests Tab.

          Dear Ntsoaki

Thank you for the inquiry, kindly note that HWSETA is not a college and does not recruit students for any funded or non-funded programmes. HWSETA administer skill development through funded programmes or non-funded programmes and also accredits companies who want to offer training to the public. Some programmes may fall within the health sector but HWSETA is not the qualify assurance for the programme or qualification.

At this stage, the registered skills programmes and qualification’s list does not include Mental Health Support as a stand alone or skills programmes. However, you may explore other SETA’s like Services SETA they offer Emotional Intelligence courses maybe they might have programmes relating to mental health support. HWSETA’s list of registered qualifications include a Counselling qualification SAQA ID: 49256.
