The WorldSkills competition aims to encourage more young people to see artisanship, and careers like nursing, as a career of choice. 28 skill areas are included in the 2025 WorldSkills South Africa competition.

The Health and Social Care Skill will test the participants’ knowledge, understanding, and specific skills that underpin international best practice in their vocational area.

Nurses or nursing students aged 22 or younger in September 2025 can apply to take part in the WorldSkills competition – Health and Social Care Skill.
