EXTENSION OF LIFE SPAN FOR LISTED SKILLS PROGRAMMES THAT PREVIOUSLY HAD AN END DATE 2024, 2025 AND 2026
1. The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) has extended the life span of seventy-five (75) Skills Programmes that had an end date of 2024, 2025 and 2026.
2. This extension constitutes a special dispensation for three (3) years as part of managing the implementation of transitional arrangements within the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework (OQSF).
3. Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) where the Standard Industrial Classifications (SIC) Codes for the affected Skills programmes reside, as per the relevant Government Gazette on the re-establishment of SETAs from 01 April 2020 to 31 March 2030, are required to prioritise the review of these Skills Programmes to ensure timeous replacement.
4. Attached as Annexure A is a list of the seventy-five (75) Skills Programmes whose lifespan has been extended under this special dispensation.
