LETHUMUSA PHOSWA
10th February 2026Good Day,
We are a registered NPO that focuses on strengthening families through various community-based initiatives. Our organisation operates a counselling centre, provides social work services to communities, and runs multiple programmes aimed at equipping and supporting families. We have been serving in this field for over 30 years and have successfully hosted interns over the years, with a strong absorption rate.
As we are preparing our application, we have all the required documentation except for Proof of WSP Submission and Proof of Accreditation. Could you please advise whether these documents are mandatory for NPOs, and if so, what specific type of accreditation is required?
We noted that the opportunity is also open to NPOs, and we would appreciate guidance on how to proceed in our case.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Wendy Tembe

20th February 2026Hi Wendy, thank you for your previous responses. However, I would appreciate clearer details, as I do not fully understand the replies sent on 12 February and 30 January regarding this matter. I have also noted from other enquiries. Please could you clarify the following:
1 – Can students apply independently for financial assistance, or must the application be submitted through the learning institution?
2 – Where do we apply? Kindly provide the direct link to the application page.
3 – When do applications open and close?
4 – When can applicants expect feedback after applying.
Wendy Tembe
24th February 2026Dear Lucille
Please note that the first line of the email, state that HWSETA does not recruit beneficiaries for any funded programmes.
HWSETA cannot provide a link because HWSETA does not advertise funding to beneficiaries directly.
The students at the universities, TVET colleges and Privat nursing colleges apply or inquire directly at their academic institutions about HWSETA funding.
Applications opened in December 2024 and closed on 20 February 2026.
Feedback is provided directly to the academic instructions after evaluation processes and approval; timelines are communicated through MoA’s directly with the academic institutions.
