    Good day
My name is Penny I’ve got a concern am a health Caregiver which I did years ago. Why do the organization give accreditation for this course cause there is no work for Health Caregiver as these people pay about R21 000 to R 25 000 which is alot of money I was fortunate to find employment but seeing how these retired Nurses abuse our people hurts me to bits so can something be done and all these schools close down with the new curriculum in place. Even Government Hospitals doesn’t recognize this certificate so why do you give these colleges accreditation. Can something be done our black sisters families are using their last money thinking that their children are going to be nurses and that’s not the case.

Thanks can someone please respond to this

    Penny

      Dear Eunice

Please note that New occupational qualifications have been registered with QCTO. However, It is advisable that learners contact the relevant quality assurance bodies (SETA) about the qualification they want to enrol before they register. so that they know what is the qualification all about and where does someone get employment after completion and what are the opportunities after completion. Instead learners enquire after completion and ta that time there is nothing much that can be done.
      Thank you

      Dear Phumelele
HWSETA fund students through HWSETA registered Employers. HWSETA advertise funding to HWSETA registered employers on an annual basis and once they are approved for funding they advertise to recruit Learners.

You may enquire with the department of health in your area on when do they advertise for such opportunities.

      1st March 2021 reply

      Dear Amanda

Kindly be informed that HWSETA advertised in February 2021 calling universities to apply for funding. Once the universities are approved for funding, they will recruit student. HWSETA does not recruit students directly for any funded programmes except for Postgraduate. HWSETA advertise funding to HWSETA registered Employers i.e., Department of Health and Social Development, private hospitals, and private clinics. Once they are approved for funding, they select students. HWSETA also administer partnerships with the public universities and once they are approved for funding, they recruit students.
