On the occasion of the Mandela Day, the HWSETA joins the rest of the world in honouring one of the greatest humanitarians of our time.
This year we celebrate Mandela Day under unique circumstances – a global pandemic has seriously constrained the freedom of movement and association but there is still so much that can be done to commemorate him and make a difference in one`s life.
This year the HWSETA will donate a wheelchair and a standing frame to Luphiwe Dlepu (5), a young girl from Fort Beaufort in the Eastern Cape. She was born with cerebral palsy which affects her movement, muscle tone and posture and has caused her not to walk. The development of persons with disabilities has been an important focus for the HWSETA since its inception, that is why it was important for us to assist the Dlepu family.
Mandela Day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world, and ability to make an impact. This year’s Mandela Day campaign message is take action, inspire change and make a Mandela Day everyday! Now more than ever is the time to give back as communities across the world are affected by the spread of Covid -19.
I thank you all for your continued commitment to the betterment of South Africa.
