HWSETA Contracted Organisation for Occupational Certificate: Social Auxiliary Worker and Child and Youth Care Worker

March 3, 2020

Dear Stakeholder

The South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP), in 2019, issued a moratorium on the training of learners for Occupational Certificate: Social Auxiliary Worker (SAW), NQF level 05, and Occupational Certificate:

Child and Youth Care Worker (CYC), NQF level 05, pending approval of learning materials.
The HWSETA engaged all parties involved and is in the final stages of resolving the matter.
Consequently, employers approved for the two Occupational qualifications: Social Auxiliary Worker (SAW), NQF level 05, and Child and Youth Care Worker (CYC), NQF level 05, must as from 1 April 2020 re-contract their learners. i.e. enter into new work-based learning programme agreements.

The HWSETA will issue letters of approval and enter into new Memoranda of Agreement.

The HWSETA will continue to pay stipends for the unemployed learners. Tuition fees remain the same and disbursements have been made to some employers in this respect.

    Good day sir/madam

I would like to report the Nido nursing.
I paid R25,000 for HCW. When I apply from them I was looking for studying further studies not HCW as I already did it at Masincedane Community Service Nursing. When I told them that I did HCW shes telling me is not the same, but when I look at the book my previous book and their book is the same then I stopped attending their classes but my money was already paid up. So I want to claim my money back from them I can’t pay R25,000 for HCW which I study less on it at my previous studies thanks.

    • Avatar Wendy Tembe says:
